In an effort to connect home literacy or 'youth culture' to the curriculum, I sent out a questionnaire asking what type of toys, movies, hobbies, and additional activities that your children interact with at home. While there were a variety of different responses that I will take into account, one of the home literacy activities that continued to come up in your responses was LEGO.
As a result of this, I have come up with a two part action plan that works in conjunction with our PYP unit plan on storytelling. Phase one focuses on collaborative storytelling, and learning about story elements through the use of LEGO bricks. Phase two focuses on digital storytelling through the use of LEGO software. |
